Michael Takes 1 More Step Towards URC Title #9
by Tim Moran

Curt Michael and the Bill Gallagher 5G headed to Delaware International Speedway on Saturday Night August 29th. This was the lone visit to the ½ mile facility by the United Racing Club. Michael and the 5G team started 7th in heat race #1 and finished in the 4th position gaining 3 positions. With the #6 invert pill drawn for the feature event Michael started in the 7th position for the nightly feature event. Michael quickly advanced through the field and took control of the lead midway through the feature event. Michael did have some challenges, most notably on the last lap the 25 car driven by Tyler Ross completed a pass on Michael using a lapped car to his advantage and driving around on the top side. Ross lead Michael down the back stretch but fumbled entering into turn #3. Michael and Ross made contact and Michael was able to straighten out the 5G first in route to his 5th win of the season.

Michael now holds a 117 point advantage over 2nd place Robbie Stillwaggon heading into the last points race of the season at the Port Royal Speedway. The final race of the United Racing Club’s 2015 season will be held on Saturday October 17th. Michael and crew have plenty of racing scheduled between now and the final URC event including the Cole Cup at the Utica Rome Speedway on Saturday September 12th.
