URC Season Finale at Port Royal Rains/Sleets out Handing Michael his 9th URC Championship
The United Racing Club’s last race of the year at Port Royal Speedway this past weekend was rained out due to persistent rain and sleet falling at the racetrack. Point’s leader Curt Michael in his Bill Gallagher owned 5g were ready to do battle with the 89 of Robbie Stillwaggon for the 2015 URC Championship.
Unfortunately not one car hit the track and the even was cancelled, giving Curt Michael his 9th URC Championship. This is the duos 4th URC Championship; Michael previously earned 3 URC Championships with car owner Pat Palladino, 1 with Frank Davis and 1 with Mike Bostic.
In 17 feature events, Curt Michael placed in the top 10 15 times, top 5, 13 times, and had 6 wins (Bridgeport 2, Williams Grove, New Egypt, Delaware International, and Thunder Mountain) on the year as well. Curt was followed by 2nd place finisher Robbie Stillwaggon 14 top 10 finishes, 11 top 5 finishes, and 1 win (Selinsgrove Kramer Cup) on the season, 3rd place Josh Weller 12 top 10 finishes, 7 top 5 finishes and 1 win (Big Diamond), 4th place and defending URC champion Davie Franek 13 top 10 finishes, 10 top 5 finishes and 1 win (Georgetown), and 5th place Brad Franks 4 top 10 finishes.
Michael and the Gallagher team will now refresh and rebuild over the winter months in preparation to once again defend their title for the 2016 season.
