Shortly after the 2015 United Racing Club season came to an end, plans were being put in place for the 2016 racing season. With the season set to kick off at the ultra-fast 5/8 mile of Bridgeport Speedway on April 10th, there are plenty of changes already in place to make the 2016 an even more successful year.
During the 2015 URC banquet held in early December a surprise point fund check accompanied every plaque for the top 10 in points. The United Racing Club is happy to announce that again an overall point fund of $10,000 has been established for the 2016 racing season. The distribution of the point fund has yet to be determined but in 2015 a $10,000 fund was split up among the top ten teams by the amount of points they received. This reportedly came out to about 67 cents per point.
For the 2016 racing season the United Racing Club has instituted a few rule changes. New for the 2016 racing season, all restarts will be double file for all 25 laps. In addition there is a 1500 pound weight rule with driver crossing the scales after the A Main or select heat races. More information on all of the rules changes along with a complete schedule for the 2016 racing season can be found at the 2016 Motorsports Trade Show presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings, Fueled by Sunoco Race Fuels and Distributed by Insinger Performance on January 22nd, 23rd, and 24th.
As mentioned before the 2016 racing season will kick off at Bridgeport Speedway on Sunday April 10th. The 29 event racing season will also conclude at the South Jersey 5/8 mile speedway on November 4-5 at the First Annual Big Track Classic Weekend. Along the way you can catch all the stars and cars of the United Racing Club at tracks such as Williams Grove Speedway (April 29, June 3, June 22, July 29, Aug 12), New Egypt Speedway (June 14), Bridgeport Speedway (April 10, June 28, Nov 4-5) Georgetown Speedway (May 13, July 22) and Orange County Speedway (April 23, Aug 20) to name a few.
There has also been an additional tentative date of July 9th added to the schedule at Cumberland Speedway. Cumberland Speedway is looking to return to action for the first time since 2012. The previous night July 8th the United Racing Club makes their return to the Bedford Speedway.
Along the way this 2016 racing there will be many fan friendly events from the United Racing Club. Look for the continuation of Autograph Sessions, Car Appearances, Bike Giveaways and many more other opportunities for the fans to get an up close and personal experience with the United Racing Club.
