URC Heads to Selinsgrove Speedway Saturday April 16th
The United Racing Club is heading to the Selinsgrove Speedway this Saturday April 16th. This event will be run in conjunction with the Empire Super Sprints. The ESS Sprints and the URC Sprints have worked together to bring a number combined shows last year, and this year the two series’ are looking to bring more of the same.
This Saturday’s 30-lap Spring Showdown will be paying $2,200 to win out of a stout $13,600 purse for the track’s headline open wheel division beginning at 6pm. The URC opener was won by 2014 URC Champion Davie Franek at the Bridgeport Speedway. This trip to Selinsgrove will be a non-points race, but still anticipate the stars and cars of the United Racing Club to be in attendance. Already confirmed are 9 time URC champion Curt Michael and 2012 URC Champion Robbie Stillwaggon.
Next weekend the series will head north to the Orange County Fair Speedway on Saturday April 23rd. Last year the URC returned to the ½ mile hard clay for the first time in many years. The 2016 season brings 2 event dates to Orange County Fair Speedway, the 2nd race will be held on Saturday August 20th.
