Weller won 30% of the races that were run under the Capitol Renegade URC banner in 2018 and finished in the top 10 90% of the time. “To achieve a championship as a car owner with family support, is almost unheard of in our sport today. We do have sponsors but it is something we sought out ourselves and their support is something we do not take for granted. We appreciate everything they do for us.
Every decision that is made, directly affects my family. Whether it is monetary, time related, or just the risk factor- everyone I love sacrifices something so that I can go out and do what I do.
It takes so much to make a team. It takes friendship and sacrifice. Time behind the scenes. People stepping up and finding time when we need it the most. Unpaid crew who takes off work. Their families who understand and support that decision. It is not all about the set ups and race finishes. It is who cleans mud and who bakes our cookies and who talks me off of a ledge. The little things make the big things easier.
I can't thank my parents enough for all of their years of sacrifice for that moment of success.”
Along with his family and friends support Weller can’t do this without his sponsors. Schearer's Sales & Service, Inc, McBrothers Overhead Doors, Assured Automation, Victory Auto Glass, Bob Hilbert Sportswear, J&J Auto Racing, VP Fuels, VRP Shocks, Diversified Machine, Inc. / DMI / BullDog Rears, GME Steerings, Ultrashield Racing Products, Simpson Race Products all contribute in some way to put the #63 on the track each week.
