Aikin Captures the Win at Delaware International Speedway

DELMAR, DE – Ed Aikin was able to capture his first Capitol Renegade United Racing Club victory of 2019 in Saturday’s 360 sprint car showing at Delaware International Speedway.

By the luck of the draw, Aikin picked the pole allowing him to lead the field of 17 cars to the green for the 25 lap main event with Jason Clauss starting to his outside. Aikin occupied the top spot from the drop of the green and continued to hold his lead after a caution flew early for a spin in turn 3.

Ten-time URC champion, Curt Michael, started fourth and was in second place tracking down the leader through lapped traffic. However, as the checkered flew at the end of the night, Ed Aikin found himself and his EA Motorsports #7 machine in victory lane. Rounding out the top five was Curt Michael, Chad Layton, Jason Clauss, and Josh Weller. Heat races were won by Layton and Adam Carberry.

Next on the schedule is a trip to Lincoln Speedway in Abbotstown, PA where current URC point leader Chad Layton of Harrisburg, PA looks to continue his strong season and increase his advantage over second place and last year’s champion, Josh Weller.
