ABBOTTSTOWN, PA – The Capitol Renegade United Racing Club 360 Sprint Cars head to Abbottstown, Pennsylvania this Saturday, June 8, to compete in the 360/358 Sprint Car Challenge race at Lincoln Speedway. This will be the first and only trip to the 3/8-mile clay oval for the URC this 2019 season.
The last time the club visited the coveted Lincoln Speedway was June 9, 2018 where a mix of forty 360 and 358 sprint cars arrived for a chance to take the green. As the night ended, Jeff Halligan of Ephrata, PA emerged victorious from the second starting position with Lucas Wolfe (Mechanicsburg, PA), Chris Arnold (Matoaca, VA), Troy Wagaman Jr. (Hanover, PA), and Chandler Leiby (Carlisle, PA) completing the top five.
This year, URC plans to bring the heat with series front runners Chad Layton, Josh Weller, Curt Michael, and Austin Bishop all planning on being in attendance, along with many other URC “regulars” looking to capture the win.
Finally, keep your eyes peeled for two invaders as Connor Leoffler of South Carolina, and Carson Short of Indiana plan to put the wing on and compete with the URC following a run with the USAC East Coast series Friday night. Leoffler competed recently with the USCS and Short plans on using these two races as a “tune up” for the upcoming Eastern Storm. Both drivers will be looking for solid runs to round out the weekend.
The series will join the 410 sprint cars on the card for the evening as well as two age groups of Big Wheel Races for the kids. Come out and watch a night jam packed full of sprint car action, you won’t want to miss it!
